Terms of Service

Last updated: June 20, 2026

These terms explain the rules for using Evore Stories, your membership, and the fiction published here. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

Agreement to these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Evore Stories at evore.net and related services (the "Service"), operated by Evore ("we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, linking a membership, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you should use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Service is lawful in your location.

Your account

You may need an account to access certain features, including locked chapters, comments, fan art, narration progress, and membership linking. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. You may update certain account details (such as your display name or email) through the account settings. Email changes may require verification before they take effect. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, pose a security risk, or are used for abuse or fraud. Moderators and administrators may issue temporary or permanent bans for violations of site rules.

Memberships and payments

Some stories and chapters require a paid membership tier (Reader, Premium, or Patron). Free-preview chapters may be available without a membership. Memberships may be managed through Patreon, through direct billing on this site via Stripe when that option is enabled, or both. When you subscribe or link a Patreon account, we use that information to grant access according to your effective tier (the highest qualifying tier linked to your account). Patreon charges, renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled under Patreon's own terms and policies. Stripe subscriptions, billing portal access, and payment disputes are handled under Stripe's terms and the checkout or portal flow presented on the site. Membership tiers may include additional perks such as fan art submission limits and the number of approved pieces you may show in the public fan art gallery. Those limits may be adjusted from time to time in the admin settings for the Service. We may change membership tiers, pricing, benefits, or which stories require which tier. We will use reasonable efforts to communicate material changes, but continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated offering.

Content and intellectual property

All stories, chapters, cover art, narration, site design, trademarks, and other materials on the Service are owned by Evore or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Your membership grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to read and enjoy content through the Service for your own private, non-commercial use. You do not acquire any ownership rights in the works themselves. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, scrape, download, sell, publicly perform, create derivative works from, or otherwise exploit story content except as expressly allowed by us in writing.

Protected reader and technical restrictions

Chapter text is made available through a protected reading experience. You agree not to circumvent, disable, or interfere with content protection, access controls, copy restrictions, or other security features. Automated access, bulk downloading, credential sharing, account sharing for the purpose of bypassing paywalls, or similar abuse is prohibited.

Fan art and user-submitted content

Members with an active paid tier may submit fan art when the feature is enabled. Submission limits and the number of approved pieces you may display in the public gallery depend on your membership tier and may be changed by us from time to time. All fan art submissions are reviewed before they appear publicly. We may approve, reject, hide, or remove submissions that violate these Terms, our community standards, or applicable law. Approved fan art may be shown in the public gallery only when you have an active membership and have selected it for gallery visibility within your tier limit. If your membership lapses or you downgrade, your uploads remain stored in your account, but public gallery visibility may be removed until you renew or choose which pieces to show within your new limit. By submitting fan art, you represent that you created the work (or have the rights to share it), that it does not infringe third-party rights, and that it does not contain unlawful, explicit, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable material. You grant Evore a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, reproduce, resize, and moderate your submission as needed to operate the fan art gallery, including after your account ends for content that was already publicly displayed. Other users may interact with approved fan art through likes, dislikes, comments, and reports where those features are enabled. You may delete your own submissions from your account, subject to moderation and backup retention described in our Privacy Policy.

Comments and community conduct

Where comments are enabled on chapters or fan art, you may post content subject to these rules. You agree not to post anything that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, threatening, defamatory, obscene, spam, or that infringes someone else's rights. We may remove comments, disable commenting on specific chapters or images, or restrict or ban accounts that violate community standards. Users may report fan art they believe violates the rules. We are not obligated to monitor all user content but may do so at our discretion. You retain responsibility for what you post. You grant us a non-exclusive license to display, store, and moderate your comments and other community contributions as part of operating the Service.

Third-party services

The Service integrates with third-party providers such as Patreon, Stripe (when site billing is enabled), email services, hosting and storage providers (including Vercel and Vercel Blob), analytics services, optional narration providers (such as OpenAI or Piper when enabled), and optional sign-in providers (for example Google or X). Your use of those services is also subject to their terms and policies. We are not responsible for third-party websites, payment processors, or platforms outside our control.

Availability and changes

We strive to keep the Service available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, stories, chapters, or the Service itself at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date on this page. Material changes may also be noted on the site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will meet your requirements, that content will be free of errors, or that defects will be corrected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Evore and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for membership access in the twelve months before the claim arose, or (b) fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Evore and its operators from claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party's rights.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we reasonably believe your use creates risk or harm to us, other users, or the Service.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Evore operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory local consumer protections apply in your country of residence.
